Descriptio

VISCOPEG 7 is a ready-to-use plasticizing concrete blend used to improve the viscosity of concrete in the casting site. Allows concrete produced in concrete plants with a low consistency intended to be poured into the field without granting concessions as to its quality and strength.

Field of application

• In already mixed concretes that require thickening;

• To increase the consistency of incoherent concrete from a ready-mix concrete plant in the construction site;

• In all climatic conditions and different qualities of concrete.

Advantages

• VISCOPEG 7 increases processing capacity without causing segregation in fresh concrete.

• It increases the consistency of concrete in the construction site by 6 to 8 cm on average.

• If the required utilization rates are satisfactory, this will not cause a delay in taking in the concrete.

• It does not change the water/cement ratio of fresh concrete as it is used instead of water to increase the consistency on the construction site. Therefore, it does not negatively affect the characteristics of hardened concrete.

• It helps pump concrete faster and easier.

• It does not include chloride ions and it does not cause corrosion to the paraphernalia.

Utilisatio

• VISCOPEG 7 is supplied as a liquid and ready to use for mixing fresh concrete. The agent must be added to the concrete in the mixer truck. Once the agent is added to the concrete in the mixer truck, the mixer works. For at least 5 minutes at maximum speed. If there is more than 5 m3 of concrete in the mixer boiler, an additional mixing time of 1 minute is added for every 1 m³ of concrete.

Amount of usage

It is recommended that the total binder existing in each type of concrete class mixture design described in EN 206 and EN 13515 be used between the rates of 0.2% and 0.6% in terms of weight. This rate changes in the design of the concrete mixture depending on the amount of air required, the characteristics of the cement used, aggregates, mineral additives, water components, heat and also according to the preferred characteristics in terms of fresh and hardened concrete. Therefore, laboratory tests should be carried out according to the preferred characteristics, and the rate of utilization should be determined. Since the amount of air to be drawn onto the concrete will increase the dosage of additives to be used, it is expected that the strength of the concrete will decrease.

Storage conditions

The product must be stored above 5 °C. In the event that the product freezes, it must be thoroughly mixed mechanically after thawing for restitution. It is on sale as a 25 kg plastic drum, 200 kg drums, 1,000 kg plastic cubitainers (boxes), and in bulk.

Compatibility

VISCOPEG 7 is compatible with Plastpeg, Airpeg, Antipeg, Superpeg Retardpeg, Proofpeg, Specialpeg from PEGASUS. For further information on compatibility with other additives, please refer to the PEGASUS Technical Support Unit. If more than one additive substance is used on the design of the mixture, each substance must be added to the mixture separately. VISCOPEG 7, can be used with all types of cement in accordance with EN 197-1. For use on special types of cement, it is recommended to consult the PEGASUS Technical Support Unit.

Precaution for use

The additive should be away from the skin and eyes. In case of contact, it should be washed with water. Goggles / gloves / masks should be used when using the mixture.
