Descriptio

RETARDPEG , a concrete admixture that delays taking as much as necessary. Prevents concrete from losing its viscosity quickly, ensures extensive viscosity protection depending on the type of cement used. Prevents shrinkage cracks that can result from high hydration temperatures. Used in concrete pouring applications in high temperature regions.

Advantages

• It provides long-term protection to fresh concrete. This makes it possible to transport the fresh concrete mixture over long distances.

Utilisatio

• RETARDPEG is ready for use as a liquid for mixing fresh concrete. It is recommended to add it to the mixing water in the ready-mix concrete production plant.

Consumption

It is recommended that the total binder existing in each type of concrete class mixture design described in EN 206 and EN 13515 be used between the rates of 0.5% and 1.8% by weight. This rate changes in the design of the concrete mixture according to the amount of air required, the cement characteristics used, aggregates, mineral additives, water components, heat and also according to the preferred characteristics of fresh and hardened concrete. Therefore, laboratory tests should be carried out according to the preferred characteristics and the rate of use should be determined. Since the amount of air to be drawn into the concrete will increase the additive dosage to be used, it is expected that the strength of the concrete will decrease.

Storage conditions and

The product should be stored above 5 °C. In the event that the product freezes, it must be thoroughly mixed mechanically after thawing for restitution. It is on sale in bulk.

Compatibility

RETARDPEG is compatible with Plastpeg, Airpeg, Antipeg, Superpeg, Retardpeg, Proofpeg, Specialpeg from PEGASUS. For further information on compatibility with other additives, please refer to the PEGASUS Technical Support Unit. If more than one additive substance is used on the design of the mixture, each substance must be added to the mixture separately. RETARDPEG , can be used with all types of cement in accordance with EN 197-1. For use on special types of cement, it is recommended to consult the PEGASUS Technical Support Unit.

Precaution for use

The additive should be away from the skin and eyes. In case of contact, it should be washed with water. Safety glasses  / gloves / protective masks should be used when using the mixture. The Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be read for detailed information.
