PEGASUS PEG SATIN FINISHING PLASTER

It is gypsum-based pre-paint surface correction plaster with high adhesion properties. Since it is a breathing material, it creates a healthy environment by balancing the humidity rate.

Uses

  • It is used on gypsum plaster, gypsum board, gross concrete and finished black plaster and similar surfaces.
  • It closes gaps and roughness on surfaces and corrects tissue differences, mold errors and planar defects
  • It provides a flawless surface, on which all kinds of paints and decorative coatings can be applied without the need for putty.

Surface Preparation

  • Lime, mold oil, dust and dusty surfaces and loose surfaces should be cleaned before applying PEG Satin Finishing Plaster.
  • Old painted surfaces should be etched or hammered very tightly to form a threaded and retaining surface.
  • After hammering, the crunchy materials formed on the surface should be scraped and the surfaces should be cleaned from dust, and then this toothed surface should be corrected by filling with a layer of plaster + satin mixture (50% + 50%) mortar at a thickness of 2-3 mm.
  • Only Satin Finishing Plaster should be applied on this leveled surface and the surface should be made ready for painting. If there is concern about the surface to be applied, it should be primed with an adherence increasing primer.
  • After the drying of the primer, plaster application should be started.

Application

Preparation of the Mortar

  • PEG Satin Finishing Plaster is easily mixed into mortar with water in accordance with the ratio of 6.5-7 liters of water for every 10 kg of gypsum. Water should first be added in a wide plastic container. PEG Satin Finishing plaster should be added slowly over the water until the PEG Satin Finishing Plaster forms a layer on water surface. After waiting for a few minutes, it should be mixed with a trowel or with a low-speed electric mixer until a homogenous mixture is obtained. The mixing process with electric mixers should not exceed 1-1.5 min. The mortar should not be heated by mixing too much.
  • It should be known that the heated mortar will make an early socket (freezing). The resulting mortar can be used in the container for 80 minutes. This period is shorter on the wall.

 Application of the mortar

  • A previously prepared amount of satin gypsum is applied to the wall surface with the help of a steel trowel, putty shovel or a spatula with a wide mouth, as if pulling putty.
  • Then the traces of trowels or spatulas formed at the joints of the various trowel passages are corrected by slightly pressing them.
  • If the correction is delayed, tears may occur on the satin surface. Complete setting of the surface should be waited for in this case.
  • After the mortar sets, such areas are smoothed by scraping with the edge of the steel trowel. The surface will be prepared for the application of second layer of PEG Satin Finishing Plaster.
  • Then, the second layer of PEG Satin Finishing Plaster is applied as in the first layer application and made ready for painting.
  • Time between the application of layers should be kept to minimum as much as possible, the layers should be applied in the same day.

Safety Information

100% natural gypsum contains modifiers that do not harm human health.

Warnings and Recommendations

  • The surfaces, on which PEG Satin Finishing Plaster will applied, should be kept clean and slightly moist. Dry surfaces should be moistened before application.
  • The requirements of the Satin Plaster surface preparation section should be followed meticulously.
  • After the PEG Satin Finishing Mortar is prepared, neither extra water nor PEG Satin Finishing plaster is added to this mortar.
  • Ensure that the air and water temperature is +5 °C and above
  • Application should be suspended at air temperatures below +5 °C and above + 35 °C.
  • The dust formed on the surface after sanding should be cleaned very well and then primed without scanning with a suitable water-based primer and the bond of the primer with the surface should be checked, and if there is no problem in adhering the primer to the gypsum surface, paint application should be started. In particular, paints that form a film on the surface should be avoided.
  • Neither primer nor paint should be applied on the floors, the surface of which are suspected. It should be known that the application on such surfaces might be removed like paper.
  • Applications on gross concrete surfaces should be started at the earliest 4 weeks after the dismantling of the mold and 8 weeks after in case of unfavorable conditions.
  • The shelf life is 8 months from the date of production with storage on the pallet without opening the packaging in a dry environment.
